Martin Luther King


Martin Luther King was a pastor of the Dexter Avnue Baptist Church in Montgomery Alabama. He was always a strong civil worker for his race.He was a member of the executive committee of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People at this time and the leading organization of its kind in the nation. Martin orginized the bus boycott in December 1955. This boycott lasted 382 days and during these days Martin was arrested, his home bombed, and was a subject to abuse but at the same time he emerged as a black leader of the first rank. On December 21 1956 after the Supreme Court of the US had declared unconstitutional laws requiring segregation on the buses. Black and white races rode the bus as EQUALS.
